Peugeot 206 2000 - Radio / top dash display problems #

Problem #1
The radio buttons don't work very well, sometimes they respond sometimes not... I am sure this is a knackererd button issue rather than something more fundamental since the radio still works fine via the stalk control.
Are these repairable? And if so, who does them??
Problem #2
The top center dash display for radio info, temp, clock etc only works if one presses hard just above the center of the display. Checking the BBA website suggests that this is a common issue but how does one remove it, (IE how do you remove the trim? Trim removal is not one of my favorite jobs. It is rarely self evident what the correct "Procedure" is likely to be and if you do it wrong it all gets broken! )
I would think the radio is at fault, not uncommon on these as are faulty display units which are over £200 from dealer. To remove, unclip, upwards direction, the hood of the display unit with the hazard switch. As there are 2 problems here,it may be a better and cheaper option to replace the radio with a quality aftermarket unit.
Thanks for that. it is my opinion that these are two separate issues.
Are there any recommended aftermarket radios that will talk to the display and control stalk??
I think the owner is reasonably content with operating the radio via the stalk but she is rather more concerned about the display.
I am always wary about instructions like "Unclip" in these circumstances since it Typically translates as "Pull on it with all your strength until something breaks!"
(In much the same way as "Drift" translates as "Using your largest mallet, bash it until it falls to bits!")
