Ford Galaxy 2.3 DOHC 2000 - Intermittent non starting (engine will not turn over) #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 2.3 DOHC

Car car came in with intermittant starting (engine will not turn over) It seemed that if you moved the automatic gear lever a bit it would start. We fitted a imobiliser switch on lever but still the same.in fact it dosent start a tall now. No power to switch side of starter. There's no remote fob with this one,just a key, but when we turn ignition on the led in door panel comes on.seems to have power in and out of ignition switch.any help would be good.

These have a starter control relay situated on a plastic holder within the "shell" of the cabin relay/fuse box.Unclip it from the pivot mountings and open it up.There is also an inhibitor switch fitted in the gearbox which is part of the multifunction selector unit.hth

Off memory the number on the relay casing is "30"
It's a VW relay with a VAG part No. on it.
Symptoms of the one I had were no MIL & no crank.

VAG part No. 165906381
Ford Part No. 95VW11450BA

FIXED.Thanks for all the advice it did turn out to be the relay.Thanks again
