General but mostly VAG Non start after painting #

Posted by Les Smith on January 18, 2011, 6:32 pm

Year of Manufacture *: up to 10 years

Your thoughts please. After painting and baked at 70 deg, car will not start. No dash lights but will turn over. No comms with vehicle and no spark or fuel. This has happened to us a few times over the years. If left for sometimes up to a week, it will start and all is well. Got a Golf at the moment with this problem. 4 day's and counting.
Regards
Les

In the future i would try disconnecting battery's before baking? could be sweating and causing a short or confusing the ecu. try putting it outside in the cold for a day or two.

It's probebly because you put it on Gas Mark 6 we always bake them on gas Mark 5.
