Mazda 2 2004 - Flat battery every 2-3 days #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 125

Have this car in at the moment with flat battery issue every 2-3 days,this car has ford zetec engine with smart charge system, alternator charges fine, new calcium battery,no current draw!, is there a common issue with this model,thought about disconnecting alternator but theres no draw to start with!

Are you sure the alt. is charging correctly ?, these default to about 13.5 volts if the alternator is faulty which can mislead. These systems can charge up to about 16v under PCM control and batt temp/state of charge etc.

I have got a smart system tester from Vectron that plugs into the 3 pin plug and simulates the signals to/from the PCM, it drives the alternator right up to full charge voltage thereby proving alt. fault or not.

I've heard of equivalent aged Fiestas with radio problems, that turn themselves on randomly.
