BMW 118D 2005 - Click sort of noise when taking up drive#

Car came in with a click sort of noise when taking up drive. forward and reverse.seems like the noise is coming from the rear diff.is this a common fault and if so is there an easy fix.

These suffer with play in the flange joining the prop to the diff. You have to remove the flange from the rear diff clean the splines and apply loctite to the splines before refitting. Apply green loctite to the splines and blue to the threads.

The E9x 3 series also suffers with this.

FIXED.Thanks matt for the advise.car came back in and i done exactly what you said and it fixed it.another happy customer as he thought he was going to an expensive diff repair.Thanks again.
