Audi A3 BKD 2005 - Small coolant leak #

This vehicle has a small coolant loss after a long run cant find any external leaks I have heard it could be a porous head any one used any form of additive in cooling system as the vehicle is out of warranty thanks paul

Hi

2.0 diesel suffers from leaks into intake tract (porous head ) mostly number 1 . Remove intake manifold and pressure test to confirm.

Make sure water doesn't run into cylinder,as this will bend con rod. For same reason, best to fix properly.

I've had issues with the EGR cooler leaking on these. To prove it I joined together the coolant pipes on either side of the EGR cooler (therefore taking the cooler out of the circuit) and road tested to see if the fault still occured. Due to a lack of the right size connector I used a socket with some hose clips. Not ideal but it worked in my time of need =)
