Vauxhall Astra H 1.4 2006 - Take key out and radio stays on #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 1400 petrol

hi guys i have a astra at the moment and the problem is that when you take the key out ignition barrel and lock the car the radio stays on and a audible warning sounds and the system does not lock this can happen now and again i have fitted a new fob battery and reset it also i have checked all doors and windows any help or advise would be appreciated .thanks jim

jim, I think this sounds like a fault with the igntion switch/ barrel.

The "key out" microswitch in the bottom of the lock housing is sticking.Spray some lube down the ign key barrel and work it back and forth.If this does not fix it then remove barrel from steering lock.Remove shroud and release barrel with pick in square slot on top.Ease and lube plastic pin in lock and barrel.this should fix it.
