Land Rover Disco III 2.7D V6 2006 - Hand brake fault, code U2002 - Fixed #

Hi

Went out to this Disco hand brake stuck on pulled the emergency release & got it back to the workshop

I code read it with a Solus & got code U2002 Switch General Electrical Failure. In live data Switch input status reads Error, I take it this means the switch in the console? I have no wiring diagrams to check the switch. 5a fuse behind dash is ok & when you pull the key the hand brake pull on

Any information would be great, if anyone has a wiring diagram it would be appreciated, I would be most grateful.

Hi russ,

I had a similar fault with one of these after using the emergency handbrake.

I had to go into functional tests using the modis(same software as the solus)i cannot remember the exact wording but there is an option there to use when the emergency handbrake is used.

Hi Lee
I have tried the relatching on the solus but the handbrake will not come on with the switch only when you take the key out, then it will not let off again unless you use the unjam feature on the solus then the emergency release. The code 2002 will not clear but I have no more information on it other than fuses.
I fitted a new release switch this afternoon but made no difference. A wiring diagram or any other data would be great.

i am unable to find a wiring diagram on AD or TD o VD data,probably manufacturers only.

Thanks for looking Lee.
Looks like it's probably the module (advise from Landy dealer) so I have put the ball in the owners court whether to fit one or have it looked at further.

Managed to get wiring data for the switch.
turned out to be broken wire between the module and the switch.
