Hi
Can anyone help with an abs to instrument cluster diagram for the this vehicle please.

We have no speedo operation.
Scan tool shows vehicle speed in instrument cluster and engine ecu,so presuming abs ecu is correctly putting vehicle speed onto network.

We can activate speedo with scan tool all working.

We have not done any further diagnosis as a diagram would assist us now.

Hope someone could assist!

Many Thanks
Simon

I am not sure if this applies to this car,but is there a speed signal to the radio?May be worth pulling it out just in case the signal is being corrupted.Golf 3 used to suffer this problem when a non std radio was fitted.Just a thought.

I would think that if there is live data in instrument cluster for Vehicle speed and the speedo isn't working, then the cluster must be faulty. ?? ( I Could always be completely wrong )

I had a similar fault on a Peugeot fuel gauge where the live data showed ok in cluster but the gauge didn't read, But it would work using Actuator tests, So I assume that the scan tool is operating the gauge in a different way to the sender unit, which is not much use for diagnostic purposes. ??

The customer fitted a replacement cluster on my diagnosis and luckily it cured the problem.

Hi Simon,

I would agree with Tony, sounds like a speedo fault. The fact that it works on actuation would make me suspect a software issue. Do you know anyone who could flash it for you, if that’s possible with that speedo? .

Alan

Hi
Thanks, will check out the radio issue.
Yes agree i think cluster/speedo.

These look like seperate pods for speedo rev
counter etc.
Will take a look tomoz,as always wanting to
look at a diagram to see where speed signal
comes to speedo/cluster first.

Will check if re flash issue Alan..thanks

But probably will end up having to fit and see with fingers crossed.
