VW Bora 2003 - Unlocks and windows go down - Fixed #

Year of Manufacture *: 2003

This bora, after you lock it either with key or remote will after a short time unlock the doors and lower all the windows, then every minute or so it trys to unlock again and flashes the indicators, have tried scanning for codes but no luck also searched archives but nothing matches fault.any ideas

Hi Jim

Had one last year doing the same thing. Turned out to be broken wires touching together where they come out of the boot and go into the body. Our one had some fault codes logged in it for the boot though. Might be worth checking them.

Have you got VCDS (Vagcom)?
It would be a good idea to find out the last unlocking source. If you watch the appropriate live data like a hawk one of the door latches, driver or passenger, is probably contaminated with water and giving a false unlock signal.

I agree with Shaun, would seem to be a problem with one of the electric window motors as these control th locks as well. If you take a door panel of you can check signals going in and out of the window motor plug, or disconnect 1 to see if it cures the problem.

It may be the wiring to the driver door module connector at the motor,
See skoda octavia post a few months ago on which i suggested the same.

Yes - seen a few of these where the door module conector is badly corroded - only cure- new module and door harness !

I take the module apart and solder on new pins !!
same with the connector.

First a big thank you to all those who responded to my problem, after spending some time disconnecting doors,motors etc I have found that disconnecting the boot key barrel wiring (3 pin plug) the doors have stayed locked and windows closed for 24 hours. VW parts dept want £113 for this, is there a way of bypassing this, customer not worried about the key always uses remote.thanks

cheep fix ended up cutting wires, after some trial and error found two of the wires when joined by passed the system, all back to normal.
