Renault Grand Scenic 1.6 2006 - No dash lights

Year of Manufacture *: 2006

I have a renault grand scenic 1.6 petrol 2006. The dash lights do not light up. auto data has no wiring diagrams. the haynes manual i have is not compatible with my wiring. There is no fuses for the instrument pannel that i can see. Can anyone help me.

I have tried another set of clocks, but still no dash lights.

Does this car have a display dimmer control?I seem to recall if it is taken out of circuit the display disappears completely.Just a thought.

I will check that when i go back to work on wednesday. The thing is, I know that the clocks do have a habbit of braking, but because this particular car was bought by me after an accident, and i have unplugged loads of things in the course of the repair, I cant be sure what the problem is. If i take the car to renault and they change the know faulty component, and this doesn't fix the problem then I would have payed for something which didn't need repairing, or worse they repair the problem and bill me hundreds of pounds. I have looked on autodata to have a look at a wiring diagram so that i can try and pin point the problem but autodata dont have anything for this car or simular. I need to know how to test the compent and the wiring leading to it, and know the electrical values.

Have you phoned AD tech.help-line ? they may have what you need, if you are a paid up CD3 user.
Or click on garage management forum, then technical info, and find renault info-tech.
