Volkswagen Passat 2.0 2009 - Code P261A coolant pump 2, how do you reset service interval? - Fixed #

( Optional ) Engine Code or CC: 1968cc CBAB engine code

Hi does any one know were the coolant circulation pump 2 is situated on the 2009 Passat. I have a code of P261A which comes back as "manufacturer specific". I am also having problems with resetting the service indicator KTS or Modus will not for some reason let me access instrumention section. It will also not set using the panel buttons. It has done 19000 miles and it is its first service.

Hi Mike

Would this not be a warranty job on a 2009? Not sure of its location but Vivid ESA does show you how to test (wiring diag etc)

Is this Fixed or Longlife intervals, fixed should be possible according to Peter Coombes reset book (shows up to 2009), do you have VAG Com as this now has an "service reset button"

the latest vw service reset has altered
rosstech "vagcom"say to email them for info on resetting
we tried vagcom on one and did not work !!!

Anyone near you with Autologic VAG can do the service reset for you Mike.

Service light is now reset after updateing Modus to 10.4.

This can be reset with VCDS 10.6
The VAG COM SRI Reset function no longer works on some late model VW's Audi's.

The new procedure now involves selecting "instrumentation (17)"
adaptation
click the drop down menu, scroll 2/3rds of the way down.
Select "ESI Reset"
Reset "Value"
Do It!

The service reset is now complete.
