    Useful info!!!

I bypassed one of these units yesterday, what an ass of a job. This is what I figured out anyway....

To start (get you home) a Neon when the remote packs in, switch ignition, watch the alarm LED and then rapidly stab the top, third from left 10A fuse. LED will stop flashing and stay constant...dip the clutch and start the car.

The next a good one (temporary/permanent bypass)....

Gain access to the alarm unit (above centre consile heater duct (10mins).

At the alarm unit you should see 2 looms coming from the connector.

Short together the 2 yellow wires, this enables crank.

    On the smaller loom....
    1. Bare back a portion of the insulation on the black/green wire.

    2. Connect a +12V supply to the orange wire. This can be found on the red/orange in the larger loom.

    Here is the trick...

    3. When cranking, momentarily apply a +12V to the exposed conductors on the black/green wire, the car should then start. DO NOT keep the +12V on the wire as something will melt.

Once you have done this, the car starts straight of the key every time.

The down side to this, is that if the battery is disconnected you have to repeat step 3 again.

Not ideal, but this was for a local car auctioneer where profit margins matter to him. I feel bad for the person that buys the car and has battery problems.

The bypass is infinately better than this, but where you have a customer that wants to part with bugger all its useful. At least you earn something from the job...better than sending away.

    Cheers,
    Andy
