Hi, Does anyone know if the auto transmission control unit has to be replaced at the same time when the gearbox is replaced. Had a fault with a slipping box, that's been replaced but there is still a fault between second and third. We know it's definitely not the gearbox faulty. Also - if a new ECU has already been tried but hasn't been "introduced" to the new gearbox using the Ford diagnostic gear is that ECU no good now or can it still be "coded" to the new gearbox.
