Hi all, Thanks for the replies. This has been fixed. I was too busy to get back to it and the Garage got tired of waiting so got stuck in themselves. Some interesting suggestions here. Petrol washed bores will cause poor compression, but will not recover if rested for a minute. Good thought all the same. Exhaust valves held open by exhaust back pressure. Cant quite get my head around that one. Sticky valves, that was kinda where my thoughts were going too, and was close to the truth. The oil was "too thick" and in poor condition. The lifters were siezed is what I was told. Strip, clean, rebuild and fresh oil was the cure. Oil supply to the top of the head was restored too. Thanks again Alan
