Hi Tony... These messages seem to be out of sync so sorry if my replies seem disjointed! There is one dowel out of three fixings thats there albeit a bit loose and skewed but I figured it would be ok once the starter was tightened on. One anomally... and I "think" it was that bolt.. it was hard-ish to screw the one bolt in... and when I took the second starter off I noticed it had taken some of the starter thread with it on the bolt. At the time I just put it down to a bad thread but it may have been someting more sinister. The old starter(original)- had that bolt only half screwed in, but tight.... maybe there is something in this....what do you think? I must admit Im only just giving that area some credence now. Mike ps...the box, flywheel etc all seem as they should be.
