    Hi all,
Had a very easy one yesterday (for a change).
Guy says it's misfiring so I start thinking coils as these are famous for them and were even recalled for them. Says he's put new plugs in but no difference (don't they always think new plugs are the answer!). Anyway, when I get there, he then says that it's been standing for about four months as they only use it in the summer. Are you with me so far? Yes, took plugs out and did compression test, no compression on number two cylinder! Put engine flush in with oil and started up, left running on light throttle for a few minutes and BINGO- sorted! Sticking valves!
Don't you just love it when something goes right for a change. Customer was well impressed and I think he'll be coming back for servicing later. Just goes to show with all this engine management and electronics, don't forget the basics!
    All the best,
    Derek
