Ford Puma 1999 T reg. Remote Infra-red Key Programming.? Archived Message

    Hi there,
I have a 99 T, Puma with the two button infra-red remote control for the alarm and cdl. I have tried to program it into the system via the Ford tsb 54/2003, but had no joy.

    1/ Ign from position 0 to 1
2/ Wait till Pats led on solid
    3/ Ign off
4/ Within 5 secs, hold key in direction of ir receiver and press and hold unlock button of remote.
5/ When led in key starts flashing, press lock button 3 times.
6/ Release both buttons and Pats and key leds will flash 5 times.
7/ After each successful remote is programmed, there is a further 20 sec programming time for additional remotes up to 4.
8/ Repeat from no 4 to program each additional remote.
9/ System will exit programming mode if ign is switched to pos 3, or no new remotes are programmed in the 20 secs, or the system has four remotes programmed.

Alarm and deadlocks work perfectly from the door lock. Every time I get to no 2, the led starts to flash as normal and refuses to light up continuously. I have tried disconnecting control unit for 15 mins, still wont work. From the diagram I have I have checked feeds and earths. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers,, Ian.
