    Some of these vehicles had a problem of interference from the electrical system of the vehicle (most commonly the ignition system and the alternator) interfering with the fuel injection ECU. The symptoms are that at certain rev ranges (typically in the 3000 RPM region) the injector waveform becomes 'scattered' and unstable producing erratic fuelling in this region. A good oscilloscope on the injector waveform will reveal the problem if it is there. There are a number of steps to curing this depending upon which part number of ECU is fitted and which ignition module etc. If this does happen tp be the fault , I will try to help you further.
