I have this automatic jeep coming into the garage for the past few weeks with an unusual problem - a vibration. This jeep is one owner(and a careful one)and only has 70,000km. The jeep can drive for approx 150km or more with no vibration or it can happen a couple of times on a short drive,I have driven it on numerous occasions with no vibration .The vibration comes through the whole jeep and only last for 30seconds or a little more.It seems like a vibration coming from the drive train,so i removed the drive shaft from the rear axle to eliminate them. The gear oil in the transfer box, rear diff and automatic box are full.Launch tell me there are no gearbox fault codes and a helpful mechanic at the dealers told me if there is a problem with those gearbox's a fault code should appear. The vibration usually happens, driving at approx 90km and 2000rpm.The owner tells me if he accelerates the vibration disappears. Now a gearbox is rather expensive at approx 4500 euro and takes 10 to 12 hours to do so for obvious reasons i need to be sure of a correct diagnosis.I thought that the noise would get more pronounced over time and the fault would be easier to detect but it seems to be the same .Sorry for such a long post but any help would be great.
