BMW E39 5 Series 2.5 2002 - DSC light illuminated #Archived Message

Hi all have a customers 5 series in with dynamic stability control light illuminated.have read abs fault codes with modis and 3 were present 108 brake fluid 97 steering angle adjustment faulty and 88 pre-charging pump.have cleared the codes but 88 pre-charging pump returns immediately.can anyone explain how the system works and what this pump does .how it is tested.i think it is situated next to the master cyl /servo thanks in advance paul
