It seems unlikely. It is not uncommon on diesels that have sucked storm water in. I have yet to see it on a petrol engine, though I've been told that it is possible. There would have to have been a serious event to cause the rod to bend. Going with the bent rod theory, however unlikely, with reasonable compression etc.,would the cylinder be completely dead, or just down on power?
