This topic can become complex I think. In the good old days when we had a physical link between the throttle pedal & the throttle body, we could base our findings on fairly consistent throttle inputs.
Nowadays I often question, if what I am looking at in a scope trace, is the result of the ECU, only applying "what it thinks" (for the sake of discussion) is necessary for any given driver input. i.e. when we floor the throttle, is the throttle plate opened fully & immediately? Is there any point in it doing so? I suspect that the software engineers have meddled with way things used to work!
Its all a bit too thought provoking sometimes isn't it!
