Peugeot 206 2004 - Airbag fault, VAN codes? - Fixed # Archived Message

Has anyone got a 2001 onwards 206 in at the moment? If so, I need a favour!

I've got one in at the moment which is causing a lot of grief. It logs codes 111 VAN comms error and comes up with passenger airbag disabled. What I've discovered is that if I turn the ignition on and don't start the car, the airbag lights go out. Start it up and they come back on logging the above codes. I've noticed from the wiring diagram that the ECU has two ignition feeds, one of which runs through a relay in the BSI board. Sometimes, when cranking, this feed disappears until the engine fires and then the lights stay out.

If someone has one of these cars in, could they just check to see if the feed to fuse 14 in the BSI is cut when the engine is cranking? I suspect it should be and that's why it logs these VAN codes only when the engine is started.
