Hi
The problem I am having with this car is the MOST entertainment system does not work. The screen will come on with 'Audi MMI' and then will switch off in about 10 secs. Also the screen does not go up or down into the dash.
When scanning with VAG-COM there is no contact with any of the MOST sytems. The only clue is the DTC in 19 CAN Gateway.
00384 - Optical Databus 011 - Open Circuit.
I realise that there could be a problem with the fibre optics side but I would have thought that I could still scan the radio, digital package ect. Does the diag run through the fibre optics of through the 'Ringbreak' circuit?
I have checked lives and earths to all units and have disconnected all terminals to check for problems.
Also, can anyone tell me if they use fibre optic inspection tools, what they are and where they bought them.
