i did my father in laws at his house on my back with a jack-im sure from memory once outer shaft is unbolted the inner just comes out like a normal drive shaft--but his was an automatic box if this makes any difference on this part--its a common fault you only need the shaft normally-gearbox was ok on his even when he had lost all drive from spline wear
