    Matt,

    I've found you can do all the resetting for the individual items via the i-drive (or dashboard if it hasn't got it). You can only reset items which are due either right now or within a defined variance (20%?). Dealers can reset anything at any time.

    The only pain is when it says service due now and oil change in 2000 miles or something similar. You can sometimes juggle dates and mileages and get them in sync. This is fine with an existing customer who trusts you but can be a pain with someone new who thinks you're taking the p**s.

    Word of warning, if your car hasn't got a dipstick, carefully measure and fill with the right quantity of oil. The electronic monitor on i-drive seems to take a day or two to sort itself out after draining.
