Hi Paul 5 seris is on the motor smack bang in the center of the dash area. Need to strip out the center of the dash HVAC panel etc CIP is Coding Individualization + Programming, basically software control on the newer BMW's. Without the ability to check + update the software on these I would be VERY carfull about what you try to repair on them. I would say about 50% of all body system faults I do on these require software updates. To the people reading this and thinking 'I've done loads of body faults on these and never done an update' how many modules have you changed? The new module will come with the new software loaded or the new software will be loaded when you took it to get the new module programmed to the car. If the software had been updated in the existing module then there's a good chance thats all it needed. Hth Sean
