Fiat 2004 - Headlights come on with ignition - Fixed # Archived Message

Has Anyone seen the Above problem with the fiat Idea or possibly the new punto. ?

I had come to the conclusion that it could be a BSI problem until I heard that someone has had one where a column module cured it. ( Possibly going into default and putting the headlights on if the switch has gone open circuit. ? )

I Asked our local Dealer and they say that there is no configuration that can be done on these BSI's. They say that they are just plug and play. ??

I wondered about configuration In case We could configure the light fault out i,e daytime running lights etc

If I look in Live data, I can see High Beam "Active" or "Not Active as it is turned on and off.

But for Low Beam it just says "LOW BEAM". ??
( nothing about active or not active. ? )

If We go into Actuator tests and Actuate the dipped beam, They go off and come back on after the activation times out, So The BSI has the ability to turn the lights off. ( possibly pointing to the coulmn switch module. ) ?

Any Idea's or previous experiences appreciated.

    Thanks Tony.
