Volvo V50 2.0D 2004 - Steering lumpy when turning right # Archived Message

Customer says she was driving down a farm track and she hit a bit of a bump. Since then steering feels lumpy when turning right but not when returning back to the straight ahead position. The strange bit is that it only happens when the car is cold and drives normally after that. She lives in London and had it checked out at a reputable workshop and they found nothing. I had the car for a couple of hours when she was "Up North" and could find nothing. The bump must have been slight as there was no damage to the undertray. Unfortunately the car was not cold when I had it so I could not get the symptom. Long shot but just wondered if anyone had anything like this?
Nerest thing I can think of is a steering column u/j
    But it seemed fine.
    Thanks and living in hopes!!
