Renault Clio III 1.2 2008 - Irregular rear tyre wear # Archived Message

Hi, Has anyone cme across instances of irregular rear tyre wear on the new renault clio 3 model.I have a customer who has worn out a set of rear tyres in 15000 miles, the inner section of tread still being 3/4mm whereas the outer sections have worn down to 1mm/bald.After contacting renault customer services,a warranty alignment check was carried out by a local renault dealer who says that the aligment "is within renault specification".They were then charged for the privelige as it was no longer classed as a vehicle fault.Have checked the alignment myself, car has a rear toe in of 2.4mm/2.5mm each side,so a a total toe of nearly 5mm.Surely this is a renault manufacturing defect, but renault customers services say that although they can inform france, nothing is liable to be done/we would not know the outcome. It may be in specification, but is the specification/tolerance just too big??? i think so.Any feedback appreciated. Nigel.
