Peugeot 406 HDi 2000 - Heater blower does not work #Archived Message

Hi all this is my own car & is giving me a real headache. Bought it with this fault, heater blower does not work,the story so far.
Removed fan bench test OK Removed heater control unit works fine on wife's car In drivers footwell there is the wiring for the fan etc, I have determined that the feed for the control unit has been lost (wire colours green/yellow-ve & grey +ve)
Have removed & checked the sockets under battery box
Fuses in under bonnet all OK with voltage
Fuse in under dash OK with voltage
My biggest query is that with the size of the cables I am surprised of a wiring failure
