Anyone heard of a sofware update to prevent engine light coming on for no apparent reason. Found this for the US but not seen anything for over here:
"Toyota has revised the software so the Check Engine Light will not illuminate falsely and set trouble codes related to the Catalyst System. Factory warranty covers this software update for 8 years or 80,000 miles. The cost to recalibrate the ECM is us dollars 65 for labour. All prices are estimates based on 65 dollars per flate rate hour and do not include diagnostic time or any applicable taxes".
I have a customer who has this fault every 6 months or so. Cheers Clive
