Does anyone know if the power steering pump on these have to be "coded" to the car? My local garage changed one for a s/h unit and it does not work and I was asked to code read it. My ACR4 G2 came up with two codes: 01309 (Control Module - intermittent) and 01598 (Drive Battery Voltage - intermittent). The codes cleared down ok although the power steering light remains illuminated. When operating the steering, there is no noise/vibration from the pump. The VAG Dealer reckons they do not require to be coded but the supplying VAG "specialist" reckons they do. (I think they are trying to lower his trousers). Archives appear to suggest no coding is required but would appreciate a definitive answer.
