Hi Dave. As you say it is really a shot in the Dark as I haven't seen the vehicle. All Anyone else can do is suggest a possibility and spark plugs are one possibility. But Yes i have seen spark plugs cause speedo's and rev counters to act erratically. As Soon as i see any weird things like that happen, I go straight for the plugs. ( After doing a few basic checks. ) Have you scoped the signal coming from the speed sensor to see what is happening. ? P.S. I got a punto in recently logging "ECU INTERNAL ERROR" instantly on start up. That one turned out to be that the customer had fitted Non resistor spark plugs a few days before. ( but he had forgot to mention that the problem occured immediately after ). How would I have stood buying and fitting an expensive ecu and fitting it on the results of a Fault code. ?? H.T.H. Tony.
