Renault Megane 1.6 2001 - Idle speed too high when cold #Archived Message

The above vehicle has an idle speed that is too high when cold (about 1800 rpm) but will calm down as it warms up. There are no fault codes in the system & we have replaced the temp sensor. I have check out the idle speed control valve and it seems ok. Any ideas would be helpful.
