You don't need a PIP signal. One advantage of EDIS is if it didn't see a PIP it defaulted to a set 10 degree advance. As you only want to test the coil output you wont need it. In actual fact all you need is a trigger wheel, driven by a variable speed motor, CPS and EDIS module.
