Have this Astra 2.2 petrol in at the moment with a noise from the front timing area. The is a sharp note similar to ht short ! The customer had the camshaft chain and tensioners replace but this didn't solve the noise. He removed the sump and found what to me looked like the remains of a tensioner assembly ,possible from the balance shaft chain , This wasn't changed at the same time . Question: Any one had and fixed similar noise. And what sort of job is the balance shaft chain and tensioners to do ,and any idea of labour time ? Thanks Nigel.
