    Ford Transit 2.5 D 1998 - Rough running, misfire, injector 1 damaged # Archived Message

    Originally came in for rough running and i found it to be injector 1 as a small fragment had broken away from the tip allowing fuel to pour out. Replaced the injectors and engine ran much better but was still slightly underpowered so took the head off and found substantial damage to the top of the piston. Although there were large craters and shrapnel imbedded in it there were no visible cracks could the damage sustained be sufficent enough to cause undesirable burning of the air/fuel and therefore lack of power?? cheers
