    VW Polo AUC 2001 - Airbag light coming on, multiple codes (Data-Bus fault) # Archived Message

    Hi all, I am trying to get the bottom of the following problem. The vehicle is a VW Polo X-Reg. When the vehicle is subject to a heavy down pour the SRS warning lamp comes on (Customer has reported this so may be a red herring?!). There are no obvious leaks or signs of ingress of water in the car. I have checked the area around the bulkhead and the drainage run offs are clear. Below are the fault codes that were read from the car when I first dealt with it about two months ago:

    Read using MT-Pro:

    01 - Engine: 18058 (P1650) - Missing message from the instrument cluster ECU

    15 - Airbag: 01299-177 Diagnostic Interface for Data-Bus, Upper threshold exceeded, Intermittent fault

    17 - Instrument Cluster: No faults found

    19 - Gateway Data-Bus (K <-> CAN): No faults found

    Today I have had the car back after it had been to an auto electricians who read the same fault form the Airbag Controller (i don't know what equipment thay used)

    So I have read the faults again and retreived the following again using an MT-Pro:

    01 - Engine: No faults found

    15 - Airbag: 01299-177 Diagnostic Interface for Data-Bus, Upper threshold exceeded, Intermittent fault

    17 - Instrument Cluster: No faults found

    19 - Gateway Data-Bus (K <-> CAN): No faults found

    As you can see the airbag fault code is the same so I am wondering if any one has come accross this fault or know of anything i should be doing to rectify this fault?

    Any help would be most appreciated
