Hi Andy Out of interest why was the P/S replaced, was it leaking fluid or noisy? The reason I ask is that I had a nightmare one in about 4 months ago on Focus 2005 1.6. The AA recovered it to us with a bad bearing noise and fluid leaking from the P/S pump area. The customer asked if I could replace the P/S pump (not done one before) To cut a long story short, we replaced the pump and high pressure hose (Ford parts), when it was all back together I still had fluid pi**ing out from the pump, on stripping down again we concluded that the problem was a really poor quality seal on the high pressure hose, we ordered up another seal from Ford, all back together and this time ok I would now say that if anyone else gets one in, it is more likely the seal on the high pressure hose that has disintegrated causing the leak, not a fault with the pump (the pumps look bullet proof) When I finally did get the belts back on with the Ford kit (designed by some joker with no instructions) the bearing noise was still there, this turned out to be the air con compressor, customer said he did not use the air con and asked us to leave the air con belt off All in all and expensive lesson when it just required a 30p oil seal to fix the leak Peter
