Renault Megane Estate 1.6 2005 - Passenger window fault # Archived Message

    Hi all.

    Got a wierd one here!

Operate the N/S/F window and it will drop as normal but will only go up if you press the lock button on the key fob twice (keeping it pressed on the second time). At least it would until I disconnected the battery to try to re-set the bsi module! Now I can't set the limits as the window won't go up!

The really strange thing is that if I press for the window to go up - it goes down! Even if the window is fully closed.

I've checked the central electronics module with KTS but there's no option for operating the windows in functional tests. The E/W system is not mentioned in any of the systems I checked.

I have checked the archives and found loads of references for window faults on these but none that match the symptoms I have.

I have removed the window motor module (in order to operate the motor and close the window. There is some evidence if water ingress on the motor body/module and I'm fairly sure that's the problem but I'd feel better if I knew someone else had seen this problem of the switches sending the window down in either position.

I'd be very grateful for any input.

    Cheers - Paul.
