    Hi Tony,

I can't confirm if this is a common problem on these, but in the past CV joints have always been a weak point on Honda's but only if the CV boots have split.

We have replaced many CV joints on older Honda's in the past and have always used a specialist company to supply them. All we had to do is just take some simple measurements (including number of splines on shaft) to ensure they supplied the correct unit. Usually had to swap ABS rings over but not much of an issue.

Honda CV joints are usually held in place by a snap ring. You can either prize it apart and pull the joint off or if you get the joint straight, a well position blow from a suitable hammer will see it pop off.

    HTH

    Sean
