BMW 525D SE 2004 - ABS fault, Codes C1E32 & C1E30, LH rear wheel speed sensor # Archived Message

    Hi all,
We have this BMW here with ABS fault light on & trouble codes for LH rear wheel speed sensor.
    The codes are:
C1E32 WSS rear left, no stoppage pulses.
C1E30 WSS rear left, open/short circuit.
Trouble codes obtained with KTS. When cleared, C1E32 comes back immediately & C1E30 comes back when driving.

We have changed the wheel speed sensor, but to no avail. (No wiring diag. or pin data available & sensor was relatively cheap. Thought it was worth a try)

There is 0 KPH recorded on LHR when looking in live data when driving, all other wheels are OK.

I remember having a spate of BMWs a few years ago with similar rear WSS faults which turned out to be ECU problems. Does any one know if this is the case with these nowadays?

Also I read some where that the later type of sensor could be damaged by scope testing, is this the case?

Any suggestions as to how to proceed?

    Thanks
