Ford Mondeo 2.0 16v 2002 - No electric thermostat actuation # Archived Message

    Hi
Have just renewed the cylinder head gasket and thermostat on the above vehicle. The vehicle has an electric thermostat which isn't being opened by the ecu, hence the reason the gasket was blown. Was just wondering if there is anything that can cause the ecu not to open it other than the ecu being faulty? looking at autodata wiring one terminal comes from fuel pump relay which is a 12v supply which is present at thermostat. The other comes from terminal 10 of ecu ground/actuation wire. Volt drop shows no problem with the wiring and scope connected shows no actuation from ecu. Have had the temperature reading using kts 650 in live data over 100oc but still nothing. I think the ecu must be faulty but could be wrong. Any ideas?
