Thanks for your reply Paul. Had another look at the relief valve built into the pump.Its basically a piston with a sprung loaded ball inside. The piston itself is then sprung loaded in its housing. Looked at it with a magnifying glass and what I initially thought was a blank end on the piston was infact an extremely fine mesh filter which was blocked.The fluid couldnt go any where so was being forced out of the reservoir cap. Soaked it overnight then blasted it with air.Refit the pump and once it settled down was fine. Incidentally the various parts that make up the valve are £150 plus vat from the dealers! A strange one but may help someone! Tony
