Dave this sounds like its had a new ECU and may need resetting.
Start the car and let it idle until the radiator fan kicks in at least once.
Rev the car up towards the rev limiter three times in succession, allowing it to idle between each one.
The light should then go out. Fiat call this a cam and crank sync..
