VW Passat 2.5 TDi 2005 - Replacing rear brake pads # Archived Message

Hi All I received a phone call from another garage about the rear brake on this vehicle. Could I go and wind the piston back on this car. Went to garage and the mechanic said he had done one side but could not budge the other. I asked him how he did it and was told he wound it back with his wind back tool. Me thinks he has damaged the caliper. I connected the solus and wound back the side he was still to do and told him to just push the piston back and DON'T wind it back. left him to it and got a phone call later to say piston wont go back so he put the old pads back in. He said the handbrake light is on all the time. He told the customer to book it in with me. Thanks. By winding the piston back manually has he damaged it beyond repair and if so I do not want to get involved.
