    Told the customer i could "attempt" to repair this with no guaratee of it working. told them £80 to attempt it. £160 if it worked.
    removed steering columb (1.5hrs r+i)
    remove 3 torx bolts that hold motor on as stated and take motor into warm office! remove 4 tiny torx off circuit board and de solder the 6 main wires. remove circuit board and apply heat to each joint on rear of board. found what looked like one bad dry joint so applied a little fresh solder. rebuilt and absolutely perfect.
    nice little earner to be honest and customer is aware there is no warranty with the repair. £790 she was quoted from dealer.
    Just had another look at this and i bet the motor can easily be remoed without taking any of the columb down. if that is the case its a 1hr turnaround job.
