Your VW might have two switches, one just after the pump in the block.
Also they some times work back to front.
Normal oil pressure switches are closed circuit when there is no pressure (warning light on) and go open circuit when above a certain pressure (warning lamp off).
Some of the VW switches work the complete opposite way.
Often changing a slightly leaking switch then causes the oil light to stay on.
I find the best way to order switches on these is to look closly at the switch and see if you can see the VW number and then order that.
